It’s proving to be a busy Summer for the JONNY HEPBIR GYPSY JAZZ BAND with bookings all over the UK and abroad. Between band dates it’s been great to have a few solo events too.
Gaining popularity in 2017 is having me play as a SOLO GYPSY JAZZ GUITARIST at private and public events. For clients that want something smaller for a musical backdrop yet still keeping that pumping swing feel, having me play solo for weddings, birthday parties and corporate events is on the rise. It’s also popular with clients who have budget restrictions due to the nature or size of event.
Two bookings recently had me keeping the groove going with great feedback after. I played for Jeannette, family and friends for her 80th Birthday bash in Shoreham On Sea in West Sussex. A great day with lots of laughter, celebration and of course, music.
Jeannette said: “Jonny, thank you so much for playing at my birthday party last Sunday.
Everybody loved your music, it was perfect & thankfully the weather was too”

Another booking was for a sunflower memorial/open day for the good people at the Pilgrims Hospice in Margate, Kent. Organiser, Sara Scriven told me that she wanted the mood for the day celebratory and happy, so that’s what I did! It was a lovely event, great weather and I met some fab people who all liked a bit of swing, Django-style.
Here’s a great shot from above the garden.
Here’s a video I recorded for Youtube channel, ‘Seaside Sessions’, back in March. ‘Les Copains D’abord by French favourite Georges Brassens.
