The JONNY HEPBIR GYPSY JAZZ QUINTET have been fortunate to be invited back to the excellent Steyning Jazz Club many times over the last ten years. The classic Hot Club de France line-up of two guitars, violin, double bass and vocals has regularly packed out this popular jazz music venue.
The band are also in demand for many private functions, weddings and corporate events too. The music is timeless Parisian-style swing jazz from the 30's and 40's but with many modern elements added into the mix.
Our concerts at Steyning usually start off with a couple of tunes played by smaller variations of the band before expanding to the full Quintet to raise the roof for the rest of the evening.
The picture above is of club chairman Denis introducing us at the start. Denis and his wife Susan have been at the forefront of promotion and booking for over twenty years. Working tirelessly to keep everything running smoothly and promote the music they both love. Denis is an old, much-loved friend of the band and we're always flattered to be asked back as they only put on twelve performances a year.
Here's a couple of pics from night.
