UK Gypsy jazz Quartet release new video on their popular Youtube channel.
We are proud to release the first of the new JONNY HEPBIR QUARTET videos filmed on live on location in Margate, Kent. The song ‘Meglio Stasera’ was written by Henry Mancini with Italian lyrics by Franco Migliacci. It was originally sung and performed by the fabulous Fran Jeffries in the first of the famous ‘Pink Panther’ films from 1963.
We thought it would be cool to do the film version straight up but give the feel our own Gypsy jazz flavour. This is the second of the run of tunes we recorded at the excellently quirky Fez Micropub in #Margate Old Town. We were keen not to lose the Latin rhythm vibe so we had the guitars powering through the whole song in keeping with our signature sound.
Here’s our version of ‘Meglio Stasera’! Please click on the link to see and hear.
This is the second of our videos and the response for the release of the first JONNY HEPBIR TRIO video ‘Brazil’ has been fantastic! If you haven’t seen it yet, here it is below, just click on the link.
