Apart from performing with my band line-ups around the country, I also play quite a few SOLO GYPSY JAZZ GUITAR gigs around Kent. This is a great alternative if space, sound or budget restrictions are an issue. I still have the same Parisian Swing two-guitar sound in the style of Django Reinhardt but in a slightly more compact form.
This set up is popular for wedding receptions, private parties, events that need background music as well as bars, restaurants, bistros, wine bars and micro pubs.
Based in Margate, I've played at many of the local spots including Turner Contemporary Margate, Buoy & Oyster Restaurant, The Lifeboat Cider & Ale House, The Chapel in Broadstairs, The Hop & Huffkin In Sandwich, The Sandwich Folk & Ale Festival, the Black Cat Bar & Grill, the Bistro at Lympne Castle and Winter Gardens Margate to name a few.
I also have an ongoing residency with the quirkiest bar in Margate, the amazing Fez micro pub. I'm usually playing there solo as Jonny Plays Django! or with METRO VIPERS the powerhouse Kent-based acoustic swing trio.
