Here's a flashback to a wedding we played for the manager of legendary funk and disco pioneers, Kool & The Gang at Iscoyd Park.
The whole band were there along with family and friends flown in from all over the world to take part in the five day extravaganza. The Jonny Hepbir Quartet were hand-picked over hundreds of musical acts to help everyone 'get down on it'. We even played a song during the ceremony for the bride and groom! It was great to be part of their 'celebration'.
I got to meet and have a chat Ronald Bell, sax player/composer/founder member of Kool & The Gang. Ronald is the brother of singer Robert 'Kool' Bell and these gentleman had a pretty groovy background. The Bell brothers' father Bobby and uncle Tommy were boxers. They moved to New York to train and lived in the same apartment building as influential jazz musician Thelonious Monk. Even trumpeter Miles Davis was a close family friend and would often drop by because he wanted to be a boxer. The brothers also played occasionally with jazz heavyweights McCoy Tyner, Pharoah Sanders and Leon Thomas.

If you're thinking of a completely instrumental Jazz Quartet it's no problem to swap vocals for either violin, accordion or saxophone/clarinet.
You can also hire me as a SOLO GYPSY JAZZ GUITARIST, perfect for a background ambiance but still with that fabulous swing guitar sound.
We also have our classic Trio and Quintet band options too.
There's even a Duo, take one guitar then add the instrument of your choice from second guitar, bass, violin, accordion or saxophone/clarinet.

It's also possible for us to play completely acoustically if your venue has noise restrictions.
Wedding clients, we can offer package deals if you're considering either Solo, Duo or Trio options as background music earlier in the day and then Quartet or Quintet in the evening.
Because you've come directly to the musicians, there are no booking fees or agency commissions to pay!
